EUROPEAN DAYS IN NIS SUPPORTED BY PALILULA

Sponsor of the event for celebrating European Days in Nis, organized this year by French Cultural Centre – Nis,  will be Palilula Municipality. This was announced by the director of the Center, Helene Emery and Prof. dr Igor Novajković, president of Palilula Municipality, after an agreement on cooperation program.

"Days of Europe in Nis will be held in the hall of the Cultural Centre of Nis May 7 - 9 2010, in the cooperation with City organizations and institutions. The selection of content and details of this programme implementation is in progress.

European Day has been celebrated from May 9 1986 on like a memory of  1950 when the adoption of the Declaration, which was proposed by the then French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman when it was adopted. The story of the EU, since the Schuman Declaration and six countries of the European Union from 1950 to 2007, includes its expansion and 27 countries. Today, the EU covers almost the entire continent and represents the interests of European citizens in modern globalized world.
